MYTH OR FACT; AUTO REPAIR MECHANIC BRENT SIMMONS

Brent Simmons is a long time mechanic and auto repair expert and he discusses what a mechanic really does in these days of computers vs. the wrench. He debunks the myths and lays out the truth about your vehicle.

Check out this episode!

Brent Simmons began working on cars at age 14 and never looked back. He says he was "born to be a mechanic" and he takes his job seriously. So seriously, he takes eight to 10 classes a year in advanced auto repair just to keep up with all the changes in the many different vehicles he works on.
For instance, did you know new cars don't require tune-ups for the first 100,000 miles?! Shocking. The truth about oil, gasoline additives, gas saving tips, tire rotation, you name it. We discuss everything from easy maintenance to major repairs which may bring you to tears. We do it in great detail and so you can easily understand it in this edition of "Interesting People with Bob Brill."

Brent owns Bennett Automotive in Thousand Oaks, California and in the view of full transparency, no he is not working on my car to do this podcast. We chose Brent because he is an expert in something we all take for granted; our cars. And he really is an interesting guy.
So sit back and listen with me, Bob Brill, as I speak with Brent Simmons, an extraordinary mechanic.

CHRIS MONTGOMERY BENDER Hollywood Talent Agent/White House Lawyer

Chris Montgomery Bender is the head of Prodigy Talent, a Hollywood Talent Agency and a former White House lawyer.

Check out this episode!

Chris Montgomery Bender likes to joke he’s on the third mortgage of his soul. He’s been:

1. White House lawyer
2. Political operative
3. Hollywood talent agent

Those three professions are enough to put anybody down at the bottom of the list of most beloved people. Chris is different though.

In our podcast; “Interesting People with Bob Brill” he talks about his humble beginnings and how he wanted to do something with his life to make an impact. As a teen-ager he began working for a local politician in Colorado. A savvy learner, he took that all the way up the food chain in the state and then to the national stage with a stop in law school in between.

Working in the George W. Bush White House was an experience he cherished and as he tells us “you never forget what it’s like to stand in the Oval Office no matter what your politics.” He got there right after …

Dr. Gary Alter, Leader in Transgender Surgery

(Dr. Gary Alter, Beverly Hills)

Everything you ever wanted to know about transgender, sex reassignment or gender confirmation surgery in one hour. Dr. Gary Alter is a Beverly Hills doctor who really is a leading expert in the field who has performed this life changing surgery on the famous and the not-so-famous.

In my hour long chat with Dr. Alter, I found him incredibly open as he walked me through everything from why someone would have transfer surgery, to the nuts and bolts of it all such as penis replacement (no pun intended, it just came up that way -- oh that was ever worse. Sorry) Anyway, the very serious side of what we discussed stems from the military to the religious to bullying. Whether Gay or Straight, believe it or not those are issues too.

When this writer says it was a fascinating conversation, I mean it. Whether you agree with the issues of those who feel they were born in the wrong body or not, it's worth a…

Sal Litvak, the Accidental Talmudist-Meaning of Life

Sal Litvak Podcast; Interesting people with Bob Brill

To say Sal Litvak is an interesting person is an understatement of all understatements. He is one of the most interesting people you might ever meet. Born in Santiago, Chile, he is a maker of hit feature films, an historian, a professor, a lawyer and an award winning maker of films. So why are we talking to him; his passion. That passion is as a Talmudist which he came upon by accident.

Litvak was five when he came to the United States in 1970 and spent his childhood around New York City. He went to Harvard and graduated with honors. He became a New York lawyer before finding another passion; the theater. So he moved on to UCLA where he went after a Film degree.

Then it was onto reading scripts for a major Talent Agency before breaking out as a film professor and then making two feature films. The most unique is the story about Abe Lincoln's body guard/ "Saving Lincoln."

Then he found his next passion; Jewish philosoph…
