Christopher Voss is a former lead hostage negotiator for the FBI who investigated some of the biggest crimes of the past several decades. He now runs Black Swan Group - working with large and small firms  handling negotiations. He also teaches at several universities. Check out this episode! When it comes to negotiating there are few more experienced than Chris Voss. Voss worked his way up the chain at the FBI, becoming a key negotiator for hostages and more. He tells us the best training he ever got, bar none, was as a volunteer on a suicide hotline. It actually got him the job as a negotiator. Voss investigated the World Trade Center bombing and the TWA Flight 800 explosion.  He became the FBI's chief international hostage and kidnapping negotiator from 2003 to 2007.
